tweetygotback-change twitter theme is so easy

Picture 11If you have a twitter account, you know the built in themes are really limited. If you are not a pro or you don’t want to spend too much time designing your own background, you may want to consider using the service from tweetygotback. It is such a neat service which allows you to change your twitter account background instantly. How does it work? Simple:

You go to the website: http://tweetygotback.com/

browse all the themes till you find the one you like the most.

Click on “apply” and you can preview the background of your twitter page. If you like it, you can then activate it and your twitter page has a new look!

Brilliant, isn’t it?

Have a look at my newly setup twitter page.

Free Flash Gallery

DfGallery delivered dfGallery 2.0! dfGallery 1.0 has been a very successful cool free gallery with 200,000+ downloads.

According to dfGallery, “The reason for this gallery to be cool is not just its UI but the way it is built and architected. We have an amazing theme engine built to support custom themes with multiple skins for each. The administration console built on CodeIginter lets you manage multiple galleries and albums of different types.”

Picfont: add text to picture online

You have a picture, you want to edit it by adding some text. How to do it? The common way is to use a graphic designing software such as Photoshop. If you are familiar with the software and are very skillful at using it, you may still find it the best to use it to add text. But if you are not that good or you just want a quick addition, then I would recommend Picfont, an online editor for adding text to pictures.

According to Picfont, “You can simply add text on 3 differents modes : over a picture (uploaded from computer or from an Url) over a canvas which represents a space where you can select a background color), or over a shape (badges, signs….)”. The effects can be viewed below:

Over a picture

 Over a canvas

Over a shape

I find it quite handy, how about you?

Color Plays

colorlover.png

Have you realized that colors can reveal the content of your site and the message is more subtle. For example, red is “warm, vivid, heat, energy, young …”, blue is “professional, cool, rational, relaxing, slightly sad, distance from crowd…”, black is “mysterious, dark, …” and lots more.

Here is a wonderful site you can play with the colors, the combinations of colors, and patterns from colors. You can find trend colors, palettes, patterns — Colourlovers.com.

Who are they?

According to the self introduction, Colourlovers is a community

“that monitors and influences color trends. COLOURlovers gives the people who use color – whether for ad campaigns, product design, or even in architectural specification – a place to check out a world of color, compare color palettes, submit news and comments, and read color related articles and interviews.  “

You have to use colors, no matter it is for your web designs, for your office layout, or for advertising. It is also good to develop a taste in recognizing trends in the world of colors so to ensure your products always attractive. So, why don’t you take a look at the site and take some sips of the colorful richness?

Google Pages

Do I have to have a website to start an online business? This is a common question for many starters. The answer is no. There are some ways of making money from the internet: just to name some — taking paid survey, typing job, freelance job, reading emails, etc. But if you are serious to establish an internet business, you should have a presence online.

There are certainly some ways for you to get the presence for free. A good example is Blogs. There are several big reliable blog hosting companies such as wordpress, blogger, facebook etc. It is great to start blogging for testing the market or promote your business, but having your own website is another story. You have absolute control over it, it also defines your presence as a real business.

The good news is you can have your own website set up with free hosting from Google. 2007-10-11_122023.png

It is easy to sign up an account with google page creator. What you need is only a google mail account which is now free to get. (Not that long ago you had to get an invitation to get the privileged account, but now it is totally for free! ) right is the instruction from the google page creator page.

Your website will look like http://yoursitename.googlepages.com. Decent enough to show the public.

Once you sign up with googlemail, you can access google page creator using your googlemail account data. Once you log in, you can create new pages, you can change the look of your pages. There are over 40 different designs for you to choose from. Here are some examples:

Google Trends

Google trends has extended its function into comparing web traffic. This means, you can capture the traffic data of any websites on the internet. Below is a screenshot of a comparison of 3 websites. b1.png

As you can see, it shows the trend of each site over time. It even picks the traffic spikes Flickr.com received around 2006. It is a great tool to sense the websites trends. Don’t you think so?
