A newly launched widget Blogrush has already attracted the attention from professional bloggers!

What is Blogrush? It is a content syndication network that claims to be capable of sending free, targeted traffic to your blog.

How is it possible? It will be done through the placement of a simple blog widget on your blog and the blogs of others. The widget displays the headlines of your latest posts, which are pulled from your feed.  You get more traffic when you refer more people (who in turn refer others) to sign up and use Blogrush.

I uploaded this widget yesterday and  thus have not gathered any statistics. However, for a brand new blog, implementing such a cost-free widget is a worthwhile effort to attract more traffic.

In addition to the quite informative graphs, a more interesting addition is the measurement on the last 12 posts. This report covers syndication of the post, number of readers, and a buzz meter — when there is no reader, the post has a meter shown frozen ice, when there are many readers, the meter shows flame. I find it quite useful for the publisher to understand which title attracts readers.

The new Report section is also available now. It provides good meaningful information as well.

All in all, I like the new phase. Blogrush has realized the problem of low click rate due to the low quality blogs flooded in after the initial launch, and it is working on improving the click rate. I hope in the short future we will see the positive change and enjoy some traffic brought by it.

I found this site recently and soon fell in love with it. Actually it is an established traffic exchange program. It “delivers quality hits for free since 2001!” If you view the websites from other members, StartXchange sends other members to your website. The same concept as Trafficswarm.

The surfbar timer is set to be 10 seconds, shorter than most of the other similar programs. The details below are taken from the site:

After your click, the timer starts to count to 1o seconds and you are taken to a new website. When 10 seconds are up, you will see the surfbar with objects again. If you decide to surf, click on the matched one and you earn one point. It is this simple.

To gain traffic, I found it works well together with Trafficswarm. I usually open two tabs at one time, one for StartXchange, the other for Trafficswarm. Then you can surf and gain credits by surfing both sites at the same time. It has worked well so far.

Google trends has extended its function into comparing web traffic. This means, you can capture the traffic data of any websites on the internet. Below is a screenshot of a comparison of 3 websites.

As you can see, it shows the trend of each site over time. It even picks the traffic spikes Flickr.com received around 2006. It is a great tool to sense the websites trends. Don’t you think so?
